The 3.11 big earth quake and the nuclear power plant accident moved us to promote technologies of using renewable energy. One of the bottle necks discussed are hydrogen production technology from the renewable energy, hydrogen carrier and hydrogen release from the carrier. In this way “energy carrier project” had started with the support of two ministries; ministry of education, science and culture (MEXT) and ministry of industry and trade(MITI). The project supported by MEXT is admitted as one of ALCA project and run a year, 2013(7)-14(6). At the first year of ALCA “Energy Carrier” project, our government proposed new SIP program. Our ALCA team had determined to re-construct ourselves and to expand in the SIP program. The SIP “Energy Carrier” program run from 2014(7) to 19(3) under the control of Cabinet Office. The working office was built in JSP.
The administration principle was plan-do-evaluate-new attempt method. Renewable energy capture, hydrogen production, carrier synthesis, carrier utilization, and safety are categorized to 11 teams(Solar heat capture, IS process, NH3 synthesis from renewable energy, H2/NH3 station, NH3 fuel cell, NH3 direct combustion, Organic hydride, Liquified hydrogen process, H2 combustion, H2 station risk management, Separation process) at first 2 years, but those were reconstructed to 10 teams at second 2 years and finally to 5 teams are survived in the last year. The budget was allotted strategically every period. Direct ammonia combustion team was recognized as the immediate technology producer at the last stage. Of-course several other teams had developed new technologies which should be commercially soon. In this presentation, some important results shall be disclosed in the power point sheets and u-tube.
